welcome to cypress california

Cypress College, in sunny Southern California, is in the shadow of major tourist attractions such as Disney's theme parks and Downtown Disney, Knott's Berry Farm, and The Block entertainment complex. The 110-acre college campus features a lake, park-like study areas and beautiful weather year-round.

The campus provides quick access to The Getty, Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and many commercial art galleries. Major concerts, athletic events, conventions and trade shows take place in nearby Long Beach, Los Angeles, Hollywood and Anaheim.

Any number of beaches are within half an hour from campus, including the home of "Surf City, USA," Huntington Beach. Students also enjoy hiking and mountain bike riding in the local San Gabriel and San Bernardino wilderness areas and backpacking in the Sierra Nevada at favorite places such as Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks. Nearby Joshua Tree National Park offers unique desert views and rock climbing. Students also plan ski trips to Big Bear Mountain and Mammoth Mountain.

The city of Cypress still maintains some of the small town qualities that are hard to find in a large metropolitan area. The city's annual festival in July features a chili cook-off, 5K & 10K runs, rides and entertainment. Other city events include "Concerts on the Green," Octoberfest and Cinco de Mayo. Numerous city parks and recreation areas feature athletic fields, tennis courts, basketball courts and fitness trails.

Getting Here: Located at 9200 Valley View Street in Cypress, the college is easily accessible from several Southern California freeways, including the 5, 91, 605, 22 and 405. Cypress is served by both Orange County's John Wayne Airport (15 miles) and the Los Angeles International Airport (25 miles).
